Brooktrout: TR114 & Old Style TruFax Installation

Note:  Only the OmniRush driver kit may be used with OmniRush.  No other Brooktrout drivers should be present on the OmniRush Server PC.  Never use any driver installer other than the OmniRush driver installer.

Never use a Brooktrout driver kit from Brooktrout or any other source.  It will not work, and will make a mess that must be resolved before the correct drivers can be installed.  If such drivers are on the system, remove them according to the corresponding documentation.  Then reboot the system, and continue with these installation steps.

TR114 boards are full-length PCI boards.  They require a PC chassis that has room for a full-length board, and excellent airflow over the boards for cooling. Generally this means that a server-class PC must be used (which is not necessarily expensive... the Dell 400SC / 420 SC models are cheaper than many desktops).

Have a TruFax? Is it Old Style or New Style? These steps are for Old Style ONLY

Digital circuit users (TR114 Digital boards for T1) take the next steps here.

ISDN users, the next steps are here.

ISA boards are not supported by FaxRush / OmniRush, and Z-Firm technical support does not assist with any ISA related issues.  The legacy drivers will support these boards in Windows2000 systems, but Z-Firm cannot help you make them work.

ISA boards will not work in Windows XP or Windows 2003. Please do not waste your time trying.

Users with multiple Brooktrout boards, or other questions can refer to the extended Brooktrout Discussion in this help system.

If problems are encountered, see the troubleshooting document.
